Fourth graders from CREC Academy of Aerospace and Engineering Elementary School’s Student Action Team donating food to Rocky Hill Food Pantry

Fourth grade students from CREC Academy of Aerospace and Engineering Elementary School’s Student Action Team are giving back to their community! On Tuesday, Dec. 19, they’re taking food donations they’ve collected from classmates to the Rocky Hill Food Pantry at 699 Old Main Street. 

According to Principal Gayle Hills, “The Student Action Team is involved in identifying and finding solutions to problems in our community. They identified the Rocky Hill Food Pantry as an important cause and they’ve been instrumental in collecting food donations and motivating their classmates to bring in nonperishable foods.” She said the team members worked closely with Assistant Principal Mark Kibby and tutor Toni Tomasino in this endeavor.

The students are expected to arrive at the food pantry shortly before 9:30 a.m. and be there for approximately a half hour. The food pantry is the house to the right of the Rocky Hill Human Services Department.
